Many studies have shown a link between abortion and breast cancer, but it has not been made widely known. For example, a Canberra-based "Expert Panel" with a pro-abortion ideology noted the link but recommended against telling women seeking an abortion. This paper presents extracts from a report by Scott Somerville, a graduate of Dartmouth College and of Harvard Law School, entitled Before you choose: the link between abortion and breast cancer.
Many radical feminists welcomed RU 486 because they saw the drug as the ultimate weapon for women's rights - enabling prompt, private abortions at the pop of a pill. Now slowly emerging is evidence that there are serious, sometimes lethal, side effects of RU 486 and the prostaglandin hormones used with it. Bleeding can continue for one or two months, with haemorrhaging and non-expulsion of the placenta. This paper surveys the evidence.
Operation Rescue, an anti-abortion organisation advocating civil disobedience, has organised highly visible protests outside abortion clinics across USA. Over 6000 protesters were arrested and charged with trespassing and resisting arrest in less than a year. Not all Christians support Operation Rescue. Some say that civil disobedience is the breaking of an unjust law and that trespass laws are not unjust. This paper faces these controversial issues.
Post-abortion grief syndrome is a problem no one wants to know about. Most women who suffer from it feel unable to speak out. The group Women Exploited by Abortion has been formed to help these women. On a radio talkback show when a doctor spoke about the problems, several callers told how they had been affected personally. This paper is a transcript of the talkback program on Adelaide radio 5AN, hosted by Philip Satchell.
Travelling home by train from his father's funeral in California, Pastor John Anderson was reading a Bible commentary on the prophetic book of Hosea. Suddenly the prophet's condemnation of the idolatrous practice of child sacrifice took on new significance for him. This was the shedding of innocent blood, which occurs today as abortion. This paper is an extract from John Anderson's book Cry of the Innocents and presents a challenging and timely message for today.
The possibility of a nuclear holocaust has generated widespread public comment and media coverage. The reality of an abortion holocaust has raised scarcely a ripple in the media. For Christians one question is paramount: What does the Bible say about human life before birth? A second question that follows it is: How did the medical ethic of centuries become so quickly subverted? This paper draws on answers by Dr Gordon Wenham and Dr Richard Winter.
